PopAuctioon — marketplace and auction platform

01 — Overview

Building the product end-to-end

I've worked on PopAuctioon since the beginning of the product, contributing across its architecture, user experience, data model, integrations, and production infrastructure.

The platform has grown beyond its original auction functionality into a broader marketplace with multiple user roles, payment flows, administrative tooling, mobile experiences, and operational workflows.

02 — Selected systems

Selected systems I've built

01

Real-time auctions

Built the bidding experience and auction workflows for live auctions, including countdowns, bidding state, reserve-price behavior, automatic bidding, and real-time updates.

02

Payments & settlements

Implemented payment flows involving buyer commissions, taxes, shipping, discounts, store commissions, refunds, and settlement calculations.

03

Marketplace workflows

Developed online-store functionality, second-chance sales, offer and counter-offer flows, administrative tools, and multi-role workflows.

04

Mobile application

Extended the platform to React Native and Expo while reusing the existing backend services and business logic.

04 — About

I enjoy building software that people actually use.

Over the last few years I've worked on products across different industries, from real-time auction platforms and maritime logistics to enterprise software and mobile applications.

The thing they all have in common is complexity. I enjoy understanding how a product works, breaking problems into smaller pieces, and building solutions that are building solutions that remain reliable, maintainable, and enjoyable to work on.

While frontend engineering remains my primary focus, working on complete products naturally led me towards backend development, databases, infrastructure, and product architecture. Having that broader perspective helps me collaborate more effectively across engineering teams and make better technical decisions.

Currently looking for my next Frontend Software Engineer role.
